Editorial policy
Four kinds of information appear on this site, and each is handled differently.
Updated 2026-11-03
Official statements
What Bethesda, Bethesda Game Studios, Xbox or their developers announce on the record — press releases, official videos, interviews — is treated as confirmed. These statements anchor every page.
Reported information
Details that come from journalism rather than an official announcement are always attributed to the outlet in the text (“The Verge reported…”, “Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported…”). Reported information is never presented as confirmed, no matter how reliable the outlet.
Series lore
Background from earlier Elder Scrolls games — Hammerfell’s history, the city of Sentinel, the Moth Priests — is labeled as series lore. It provides context for TES6’s title and teaser, but a detail established in Daggerfall or ESO is never written up as new TES6 information.
Analysis
Where a page reads meaning into official material — what a teaser image implies, why a title choice matters — it stays clearly framed as interpretation, anchored to the source material it draws on.
Sources
Detail pages link their sources at the end of the article, so every claim can be traced back to where it was said.
Corrections
When something on the site turns out to be wrong or is superseded by new official information, the page is updated in place and the updated date reflects the change.
