The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel release date — what's confirmed
There's no release date yet. Bethesda hasn't given one — and reporting suggests the game is still years out.

The short answer
Bethesda hasn’t announced a release date — not even a year. The November 3, 2026 name reveal came with no date, no window and no gameplay, with The Verge noting “Bethesda isn’t sharing any more details today.”
What Bethesda has said
The closest thing to a schedule statement is the studio’s July 2026 note: The Elder Scrolls VI is “our primary development focus today, with the majority of our team currently working on the next chapter,” and “We’re where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day.”
Earlier milestones sketch the shape of the wait. The game was in pre-production when teased at E3 2018; Todd Howard said in August 2023 that the goal was ‘the ultimate fantasy-world simulator’, and the game moved into full production once Starfield’s development wrapped that year; and Phil Spencer testified in June 2023 that it was “five plus years away” at that point.
Reported windows
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported in July 2026 that the game is at least two years away — putting it no earlier than 2028.
Going back further, leaked internal Microsoft documents from the 2023 FTC v. Microsoft trial had projected 2026 at the earliest — a projection the actual timeline has already outrun.
What to watch next
A release window will most likely arrive with the first gameplay reveal, which hasn’t happened yet. Xbox’s major showcases and Bethesda’s own channels are where it would land. In the meantime, the timeline tracks every public milestone so far, and the platforms page covers what’s known about where it will launch.
